Frequently Asked Questions

How much is shipping?

All items are shipped USPS Priority Mail. We will do our best to consolidate shipping and refund some of the shipping costs if multiple orders are placed to the same address.

Shipping Rates:
1 to 3 tubers = $11.00
4 to 15 tubers = $17.00
16 to 30 tubers = $24.00
Any orders over 30 tubers = $30.00

When will you ship?

Shipments will be sent out mid-April or after the last frost in your area. If you are in a very cold climate and anticipate your last frost won't be until late-April or beyond, please notify us by email and we will adjust your shipping date accordingly.

Are there order limits?

Any limits will be listed clearly in the product title and repeated in the product description. There are two varieties this year that are limited to two tubers per person. If ordering more than the limit, your order will have to be cancelled and it is possible that the tubers could sell out prior to you being able to place an updated order. Please be aware that even if some varieties do not have a limit, they may have very low quantities available. For this reason, it is possible if you add a plant to your cart, it could be sold out by the time you attempt to check out.

What is the return policy?

All tubers are hand inspected to identify at least one eye prior to shipping, and we guarantee this to be true! If you believe an error was made, please reach out via the website's contact form within 5 days of your order arriving so we can address your concerns with a refund or replacement. Beyond 5 days after you have received your tubers, there will be no returns, as plant performance cannot be guaranteed given a number of factors unrelated to the quality of the tuber.

Do the plants have viruses?

We follow all the American Dahlia Society (ADS) recommendations to help control
disease in Dahlias. We are dedicated to proper sanitization methods to minimize
viruses and all the tools used are properly sanitized for harvesting and cutting plants down when the season ends. When the dividing starts, all surfaces and tools are meticulously sanitized as well.

We attribute our success at avoiding viruses to the fact that we have grown our
stock of tubers through our own small supply multiplying over the years as well
as by obtaining plants from local or well-known domestic growers only. If there is
ever even the slightest suspicion, the plant will be culled.

We have been very blessed at Olympic View Dahlias and have not been stricken
by virus issues thus far. We say this cautiously because according to the
American Dahlia Society's 2022 research, an average of 87% of
healthy, asymptomatic dahlia plants carry at least one virus. We cannot test all our plants due to the high cost of testing, so we take sanitation and virus control practices very seriously.
